Based out of Eureka, CA and formed in 2006, Ukesperience is a primo blend of rock, folk, and blues. Less than one year later, the group received an endorsement by Pono ‘ukuleles from Wahiawa, Hawaii. This ukulele based group features unique, custom, innovative instruments in ukulele form.

Joe Koches is the frontman on concert uke. On tenor uke and lapsteel uke is Jason Hodel. Bass player, Tim Johnston, custom makes some of the ukes, including his bass ukuleles and the lapsteel uke. Dave Sandomeno plays percussion. Everyone in the group plays ukulele. Ukesperience was the only US mainland performers invited to the 2008 Waikoloa Ukulele Festival on the Big Island of Hawaii.

With a grass roots approach, we do our own promotion and our recordings are engineered by Tim, our bass player. Ukesperience’s natural sound strongly emphasizes the ukulele, producing, not just the usual standards, but interesting and innovative tunes as well. They have been featured on Ukefarm.com’s Radio playlist and Ukecast.com’s episodes #302 and #219.
